What we really want out of life…

June29

A buddy of mine (Mike Nyffeler) sent me a link to this video today, and it really helps me see ‘what we really want out of life’…Purpose.

Take 10 minutes and watch this video, it will reinforce some thoughts you may have about your own life and what drives you.

Wow, that was eye-opening. I think it helps me understand my employees a little better.

That was sick! It totally applies to my “industry” where most everything that gets done is done by volunteers. What happens when the hierarchy stops telling people what meaningful projects are and then convincing others until they participate? I think what you get is leadership that hears out what purpose people feel they have and then assists them in doing the meaningful things they want to do. THANKS for sharing.

I think it’s very interesting that we can run a business or just be in charge of people and not even understand the basics about what make them tick…Thanks for your comment Michael! It’s funny they don’t teach this stuff in schools…not really I guess!

I know, the guy that did that video was amazing!

Think of the power we could have as businesses, organizations, non-profits, etc., if we could truly have people fight on our behalf…I’m not talking a small group of people, I’m talking about an entire organization. Is it possible for a CEO of a business to be so in love with what he’s doing that he doesn’t want to take home a paycheck? Interesting ideas…I’d like to see a model like that in place today.

    Thanks again Tyler,

Freakonomics! Not only is the video badass but the message, rocks. My gender in the economy class I’m taking right now is teaching me that everything we have learned in basic economic classes (such as micro and macro,) is totally wrong. Nice share!
